After months of traffic jams and detours that have tested the patience of thousands of drivers, Madrid City Council has announced the reopening of a key section of the M-30, restoring normality to the capital’s main ring road.
The northbound lane affected by the works on the Parque Ventas project is back in operation ahead of schedule, thanks to the progress of the works and good municipal management. The cut, in force since July, had caused long delays and a considerable impact on daily mobility, especially in the return of summer.
The reopening of the M-30 section a month earlier

The reopening comes more than a month ahead of the announced schedule and means that all lanes of the M-30 are once again accessible to traffic.
This means a significant improvement in traffic flow and an immediate reduction in daytime traffic jams, as the effects will be limited exclusively to night-time interventions to avoid inconvenience to users. In the recently completed phase, 153 piles have been driven and work is now underway on the placement of the piles that will support the future roof, in addition to the progressive installation of new beams.
The Parque Ventas project will generate an arboreal space of more than 16,000 square meters between the districts of Salamanca and Ciudad Lineal, has been strongly criticized by neighbors from the beginning for being “a call for gentrification”.
The project will continue to progress until the spring of 2027, which is when its inauguration is announced, but the reopening of the M-30 section represents an immediate relief for users and residents, who recover mobility in one of the most conflictive points of the city, after months of continuous traffic jams.
