Naked cyclists in the center of Madrid in protest. That’s what anyone strolling through some of the most central streets of the capital will find this Saturday, June 21. Called one more year by the Pedalibre Association, the Ciclonudista -which is now in its 22nd edition- vindicates bicycle mobility and denounces the road violence suffered by this group.
“We show ourselves naked because we feel naked in front of the traffic and we demand measures that truly promote this wonderful way of traveling and provide the necessary safety for current and future cyclists,” reads a text on the website of the call.
The route, approved by the Madrid Government Delegation, will start at Plaza de Cibeles at 12:30h.
What route will the Madrid 2025 Ciclonudista follow?
The route will start, as we say, in Madrid’s Plaza de Cibeles. From there the route will continue through the streets of Alcalá, Alfonso XII, Montalbán (where there will be a stop to take off clothes), Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Alcalá, Gran Vía, Princesa, Bulevares, Génova, Plaza de Colón, Paseo de Recoletos, Cibeles, Alcalá, Sol, Calle Mayor, Bailén and Plaza de Oriente, where the march will end.
The organizers remind those who plan to attend not to forget the sunscreen.
More cities join this initiative
Madrid is not the only city in which groups of cyclists take to the streets without clothes to demand more safety: cities such as London also have their own nudist march on two wheels under the acronym WNBR (World Naked Bike Ride).
