The Madrid City Council will raisethe maximum age to 30for eligibility in the JOBO program, the municipal cultural pass that provides free access to the programming at seven of the city’s cultural venues. The change will take effect in the 2026–2027 season.
Until now, the program was aimed at younger people. With this expansion, the City Council is extending access to a segment of the population that, in many cases, is still in school or entering the workforce and has less purchasing power for cultural activities.

JOBO provides free access, Monday through Friday, to the in-house programming at the following municipal venues: Nave 10 Matadero, Teatro Español, Fernán Gómez, Centro Cultural de la Villa, Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque, Teatro Circo Price, Cineteca Madrid, and Centro Danza Matadero.
Each user can reserve one ticket per show and attend one event per day, within the quota reserved for the program. Tickets can be requested up to ten days in advance; they are personal and non-transferable, and can be downloaded through the user’s personal account once registration has been validated.
The pass can be purchased online through the [Madrid Destino ticket sales platform](https://tienda.madrid-destino.com/es/account/membership) or in person at the Tourism Center in Plaza Mayor.
Changes to the reservation system
Along with raising the age limit, the City Council has introduced improvements to the reservation system with the goal of reducing no-shows—reserved tickets that are ultimately not used—and improving the actual utilization of available seats.
Since its launch, JOBO has provided more than 300,000 tickets, cementing its status as one of the city’s main tools for bringing young people into contact with the city’s cultural programming.
Marta Rivera de la Cruz, the delegate for the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sports, noted that extending the pass to age 30 means “supporting for a longer period a generation that has already incorporated theater, dance, film, and live music into their way of experiencing the city.”
