They say there are people who think about the Roman Empire several times a week. Well, you no longer have to imagine it: a new Roman spectacle brings it to life in Madrid at the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela on May 8 and 9. The arena is open for just two nights, so click this link to get your tickets before they sell out.
During those days, the Hippodrome transforms into a veritable Colosseum: an arena where various fighters face off in spectacular bouts , amid tension, strategy, and endurance. A sort of dance of life and death in which every gesture counts and where Caesar’s thumb decides the final fate: mercy or condemnation? That is ROMA: Forbidden Fights.
From the arena to the final battle

Then, the action and our attention focus on the arena. ROME: Forbidden Fights is a theatrical show where the story begins with all the splendor of the Empire: Caesar enters, the crowd cheers, and the first fights set the pace for games that seem under control. But that calm doesn’t last long.
What begins as an orderly spectacle breaks down when two prisoners rebel and turn the arena into something much more brutal. From there, the narrative escalates: challenges, confrontations, and decisions that no longer depend on Caesar. The tension grows. There are no longer rules, nor honor—only the instinct for survival.
From there, the show shifts gears and becomes much more intense. The fights cease to be mere exhibitions and turn into more direct confrontations, with plot twists and decisions that shape what happens in the arena. The staging incorporates new characters, effects, and unexpected moments that make each part of the show unfold like a continuous story.
