After a few months of relative anonymity, Margot Robbie is back in the news. After conquering the world with Barbie (2023), the Australian actress and producer -the highest paid on the planet according to Forbes in 2023 and one of the 100 most influential according to Time-is back on the media radar twice: because she is filming, and because she is in Madrid.
The fact is not minor: Robbie has been spotted at Arzábal Retiro (avenida de Menéndez Pelayo, 13), one of the most emblematic restaurants of traditional cuisine in the capital. Yes, that temple of Iberian ham, Russian salad, croquettes and callos a la madrileña. A temple that could well pass from now on this list of Madrid restaurants chosen by celebrities.
His appearance in the local Ivan Morales and Alvaro Castellanos has ignited all the alerts. And as far as Madrid Secreto has been able to know, the final payment ticket of the Australian actress has been composed of the following dishes: mortadella, cecina, seafood salpicón, ear, bonito tartar, chipirones encebollados, patonet, Galician blonde beef chop, and for dessert torrija. Margot Robbie is in Madrid, and something is cooking.
Margot Robbie’s upcoming projects
The visit to the capital coincides with several open fronts in her career. On the one hand, Margot Robbie is producing the new live action movie of The Sims, the mythical home simulation video game by Electronic Arts and Maxis. The official announcement is already a reality and is being made by her production company LuckyChap Entertainment, the same one that orchestrated the global Barbie phenomenon.
In addition to The Sims, the actress turns 35 this 2025 and does so with two projects already underway. The first, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which she stars in alongside Colin Farrell under the direction of South Korean-American filmmaker Kogonada, will hit theaters in September.
The second, much more literary, brings her back to her 19th century gothic roots: Robbie will be Catherine Earnshaw in a new adaptation of Wuthering Heights, directed by Emerald Fennell (the same as Promising Young Woman). Filming has taken place in the Yorkshire Dales and the film will be released in 2026.
