From November 28 to January 4, the Operations Courtyard of CentroCentro (Plaza de Cibeles, 1) will once again be the setting for the nativity scene installed at its headquarters by the Madrid City Council: a large nativity scene made up of some 200 figures and 20 constructions, as well as some plant decorations.
With a circular shape and two heights, the layout and scenography of this nativity scene allows to surround it to observe every detail of the assembly. Among the scenes represented are the Annunciation to the Virgin by the angel Gabriel, Herod’s castle or a series of daily scenes that reflect the daily life of the people of Bethlehem.
Of course, the most relevant moments of the biblical story are not missing: the Annunciation to the shepherds, the great Cavalcade of the Magi, the Nativity -which this year is represented with its complete structure- and the Flight into Egypt.
It is also a nativity scene of great artistic quality: its author is the Toledo sculptor José Luis Mayo Lebrija, an international reference in the art of nativity scenes. His style stands out for its “historical rigor and artistic quality”.
