The 2026 Pinto Carnival is coming on strong, with a desire for joy, color, and above all, lots of fun. The Madrid town celebrates this festival from February 13 to 18 with a program that respects and maintains traditional events such as the burial of the sardine and the handmade mask contest, which is celebrating its second edition after last year’s success.
One of the main activities will be the Grand Carnival Parade, scheduled for Saturday, February 14, starting at 5:30 p.m. All the participating troupes, murgas, parades, and groups will parade among musical brass bands, street performances, themed floats, and music and dance groups.
In addition to this grand parade, other activities will be offered throughout the festivities, such as a bicycle ride, a carnival dance, entertainment with DJs, and activities designed for the youngest members of the family.
The big news for Carnival 2026 in Pinto: the chirigotas
As we said, the big news will be the street chirigotas, which will perform on Friday, February 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be four “high-level” groups, in the words of the council: Chirigota Madrid – En burka y captura, Chirigota El Sur… De Madrid – Mira quién habla aquí, Chirigota El Desván – La niña de la recta and Chirigota de Yepes – El último de la Fila.
Their performances will take place simultaneously at the following locations in the town: Buenos Aires Park, Egido Park, Tenería, and Francisco Rabal Theater.
