The hustle and bustle at number 32 Gran Via is even greater than the usual hustle and bustle of this street, the reason being that this is where the largest Primark in the city is located. But from Thursday 23rd, lovers of the Irish fast fashion giant will be able to shop in a second 3,600 m² flagship store at number 8 Calle Conde Peñalver.
Although the salamanca neighborhood is synonymous with luxury in Madrid, not in vain they call it the Golden Mile, and it may seem that there are only stores of the level of Loewe and Chanel, the truth is that in this street abound other experts in ready-to-wear as is the Inditex group. That is why Primark’s commitment to a striking circular building declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, which was once the old Salamanca Cinema, is not so surprising.
What the new Primark store in Madrid will look like
This new Primark will also have that feeling of shopping mall or even from old luxury galleries like the one in Gran Vía, due to its magnitude, but always buying from the same brand and at very affordable prices.
The brand has invested 15 million euros so that its five floors can recover some of the appearance of the original building, built in 1935. This is a common tactic that has been perfected by Zara, which seeks to create a luxury store-like shopping experience, thus separating the brand image from the concept of cheap clothing.
As in the rest of its stores, you will find items ranging from everyday basics, beauty and leisure products to home items and fashion trends. On the other hand, as part of a feature the company is introducing in its stores in Spain,“the store will be equipped with self-checkout counters, in addition to the traditional cash registers.”
