Responding to one of the main concerns and demands of citizens: that is the objective of Severo Ochoa, 1, the new sustainable public rental housing development to be built in San Sebastián de los Reyes. This week, the San Sebastián de los Reyes City Council published the contract for the project tender, with an estimated value of €694,312.50.
This is the first development of its kind in a decade to be launched by the San Sebastián de los Reyes City Council through the Municipal Land and Housing Company (EMSV), according to the city council itself.
The preliminary design for these new sustainable public rental homes, presented in October 2025 and for which the tender has just been published, envisages the construction of 68 new homes and commercial premises for public tertiary use under an affordable rental scheme.
As for the characteristics of these homes, which will be built in the Pilar de Abajo area of the municipality, they will have common leisure areas, a swimming pool, and a garage.
When will work begin on the sustainable public rental housing?
According to estimates by the San Sebastián de los Reyes City Council, construction work on these apartments will begin in 2027. As specified in the tender documents, it is an essential requirement that bidders have “the necessary business or professional qualifications for project design and construction management.”
Bids may be submitted electronically until April 13 at 3:00 p.m.
