This January 5th, the Three Wise Men will get back on a historic train in Arganda del Rey. The parade will recover a tradition of the municipality, which had not been repeated for thirty years. Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will travel the streets aboard the emblematic Tren de Arganda, giving back to its inhabitants one of the most remembered Christmas images.
Before reaching the city center, Their Majesties will make a stop in the neighborhood of La Poveda, as reported by the City Council of Arganda. In this way, the link between the railway heritage of Arganda and its celebrations will be strengthened, offering an experience full of emotion and history.
A historic locomotive

The return of this tradition has been possible thanks to an agreement between the Association “Centro de Iniciativas Ferroviarias Vapor Madrid” and the town council, signed last Saturday, December 13.
The association has given to the consistory the Diema Locomotive, with the aim of installing it in a very symbolic place of the route of the tracks. It will be placed in an emblematic point where the train used to run, so that it will be a reminder of the railway identity of the municipality.
Since 1987, the organization has united neighbors and enthusiasts to develop tourist and cultural activities linked to trains. Over the years they have recovered locomotives, organized demonstrations of their operation and have participated in all the works related to their conservation in Arganda.
The identity of the Argandeños

The image of the Three Wise Men aboard the Train of Arganda will bring back a great symbol of Arganda. “It is one of the most important values of our town, and therefore we recover a tradition that some of us saw as children. We will receive the Three Wise Men as it is due in one of the most special days of the year,” said the mayor, Alberto Escribano, after signing the agreement, as reported by the City Council.
The new generations will be able to learn the value of trains, while the older ones will relive their childhood memories, taking advantage of a day marked by the magic of the Three Wise Men.
The Cavalcade in Arganda

Next Monday, January 5, 2026, the Three Wise Men parade will go through the streets of Arganda starting at 6:30 pm. It will follow a route along ValdeArganda Avenue, San Sebastian Street, Army Avenue and San Juan Street until it reaches the Plaza de la Constitución.
The City Council has not yet announced the total number of participating floats, but has confirmed the collaboration with the Arganda Train, which will become the transport of the Kings instead of camels.
