The Carrizal Lagoon: a green shelter

But the Laguna del Carrizal is much more than the lake and its new boats. In addition to its stunning views and calm waters, there is a network of accessible paths for walking, running or cycling, children’s playgrounds, large grassy areas for picnics and a variety of birdlife that conquers nature lovers. In addition, in the summer months, the park becomes a meeting point for cultural activities, outdoor sports and events organized by the municipality to boost social life in a cooler environment.
The park also has the restaurant La Laguna and a wide range of terraces and corners to rest, read or simply enjoy the outdoors without consuming anything. The vegetation, composed of poplars, willows and riverside shrubs, creates a cool microclimate even on the hottest days, making it one of the best refuges against the high temperatures of Madrid’s summer.
