If you’re young, grew up in Pozuelo de Alarcón, and left because prices made it impossible for you to stay, this call for applications is for you. On Thursday, October 1, the City Council opened the registration period for the lottery for the first 200 apartments under its Affordable Rental Housing Plan. You have until November 15 to register on the website pozuelodealarcon.org, where you’ll find the eligibility requirements and more information about the apartments.
Rents will range from 685 euros for a 50-square-meter, one-bedroom apartment to about 1,600 euros for a 130-square-meter, three-bedroom apartment. According to the City Council, this represents a savings of up to 40% compared to the municipality’s open market rates. Additionally, the rent may not exceed 35% of the applicant’s or the family’s annual net income.
The 200 units are distributed across four areas:
68 on Edgard Neville Street (Ciudad de la Imagen), 58 on Coca de la Piñera, 42 on Argentina Street, and 32 on Murania Street. All developments include apartments with up to three bedrooms, a garage, and a storage room. They also have a swimming pool, except for the ones on Murania Street.
Who is eligible to apply and how the lottery will work

To be eligible for a unit, you must meet the following conditions: be of legal age and under 40 years old, hold Spanish citizenship, and have been registered as a resident of the municipality for 10 consecutive years. Those ten years do not have to be the most recent, so young people and couples who moved to areas with more affordable housing markets are also eligible. To facilitate this return and expand the number of potential beneficiaries, the age limit has been raised by five years, to 39.
Applicants’ annual income may not exceed 63,000 or 71,400 euros, depending on the apartment in the lottery. This is equivalent to not exceeding 7.5 and 8.5 times the Public Multiple-Effect Income Indicator (Iprem). Those awarded an apartment must use it as their primary residence and may not own any other property.
The public lottery, conducted before a notary, will be held in mid-January at the MIRA Theater. It will establish an order of priority, and based on that order, applicants who meet all the requirements will choose from among the available options.
The units are already under construction and will begin to be handed over next year. The first to be delivered will be those in Murania, where construction is further along. Throughout 2027, the units in Coca de la Piñera and Argentina will be completed, and those on Edgard Neville Street will be the last to be delivered.
You can find all the information and details on how to apply on the city’s website.
