Can a mural come to life? CEIP Regimiento Inmemorial del Rey (avenida de Moratalaz, 51), a school in the Moratalaz district, is proof that an interactive mural is not only possible, but can also be considered a world-class reference in this artistic discipline.
This is not hyperbole: Persigue tu estrella, the large 180 m² mural created by the young Madrid artist Leyre Pérez Velasco -known in networks as @leyvel.es-, is among the candidates of the prestigious digital urban art platform Street Art Cities to become the best mural in the world 2025.
The design, which immediately captures attention for its fantasy color palette, features a large three-story tall lynx and a butterfly that come to life thanks to augmented reality, implemented in the work by Ricardo Rolland, a 3D video game artist.
The work is part of the Muraltalaz urban art project, promoted by the Moratalaz Municipal
Municipal de Moratalaz with the aim of expanding the cultural offerings of the area, and could go from neighborhood icon to global icon if it gets the most votes in the contest.
The people of Madrid can vote to make it the best in the world.

The public can participate in the election of the best mural in the world 2025 through a vote that will remain open throughout the month, until January 31, 2026 at 15h.
Anyone who wants to vote for their favorite mural can do so through the official website of Street Art Cities from among all the works that have been nominated, where the Madrid mural competes with works from countries such as Belgium, Serbia, Brazil, Mexico and Italy.
