While Madrid’s neighborhoods are being depersonalized, gentrified and filled with tourists, there are initiatives that seek to retain some of the essence of the city. Nos separa el puente y el río prepares its fifth edition between May 28 and June 24, with a cultural proposal that wants to rediscover the neighborhoods through memory, art and personal experience. This project, consolidated since 2021, moves away from traditional tourist routes and bets on scenic and collaborative walks guided by local artists and creators, in which attendees explore intimate and collective stories that transform the perception of urban spaces.
The most personal free routes in the capital
Through guided routes through the margins and peripheries of the city, the event seeks to decentralize the cultural offer and give voice to new views on Madrid, betting on community art and the participation of audiences of all ages and profiles. Each walk is an opportunity to listen to personal stories, share experiences and re-signify the neighborhoods beyond their monuments and the already known history.
In this edition, new routes and territories are incorporated, and free registration is maintained, facilitating access to all interested parties. Nos separa el puente y el río collaborates with institutions such as Matadero Madrid, CentroCentro Cibeles, Fundación Mapfre and several universities, consolidating itself as one of the most unique proposals of the Madrid cultural scene.
The bridge and the river separate us is much more than a tour: it is an invitation to inhabit and narrate the city from the intimate, fostering an emotional connection with the spaces and the community. All the information about the calendar, routes and how to participate is available on the project’s website and social networks.
