Madrid will once again host one of the major events for botany enthusiasts. The French company Plantes Pour Tous is returning to the capital with a new Grand Plant Sale: a pop-up market featuring hundreds of plants, prices starting at €0.99, and free admission with prior reservation.
The event will take place during the first weekend of September in the Salamanca neighborhood—a chance to pick up a houseplant, cactus, succulent, or larger plant without having to go to one of the big nurseries on the outskirts of the city.
When is the Big Plant Sale?
The event will take place from Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6, at Espacio 23, located at 23 General Oráa Street. As in previous years, the organizers will set up a large pop-up nursery there with thousands of plants for sale and options for all levels of experience—from those looking for their first monstera to those who want to expand their very own indoor jungle.
The scheduled times are:
- Friday, September 4: 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, September 5: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Sunday, September 6: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Plants starting at €0.99
The main draw of the sale is the price: plants will start at €0.99, and there will be a variety of sizes and types available at tiered prices. The initiative is organized by Plantes Pour Tous, a French company that specializes in bringing botany to the general public through these temporary sales.
It will be a great chance to look for small, easy-to-care-for plants, such as cacti and succulents, but also to find large-leaved houseplants, more eye-catching specimens, or plants designed to fill a terrace or a bright corner of your home.
The charm of this format lies precisely in browsing the space as if it were a flea market: comparing sizes, choosing based on the available light at home, and walking out with a new plant under your arm. Of course, it’s a good idea to be clear about your transport capacity before giving in to the temptation of the bulkier plants.
