Like the train that returns home from Hogwarts for Christmas, but the journey will go from Navacerrada to La Casa de la Navidad in the Valle de la Barranca: this is the trip organized by the Community of Madrid and the City Council of Navacerrada for children to bring their letter to the Three Wise Men.
For an hour the children and their families will accompany the pages through a train ride through the mountain to bring their wishes to their Majesties of the East. The journey starts in the village, where the wagons decorated with lights and garlands gather families to go up, among pine forests and views of the mountains, to La Casa de la Navidad, a space installed in the middle of nature that looks like something out of a winter fairy tale.
The train to take your letter to the Three Wise Men
Upon arrival in the valley, the plan continues with decorated booths, children’s activities, chocolatadas, photo areas and, depending on the day, visits from Santa Claus or the Three Wise Men, making the excursion a complete morning or afternoon experience.
The Navacerrada Christmas train will run from December 12 to January 4, only from Friday to Sunday. During those days there will be six daily passes:12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm. This allows you to choose between going up during daylight hours, with mountain light and views of the valley, or doing so in the late afternoon and evening, when the lights of the train and La Casa de la Navidad stand out even more in the landscape.
Tickets can be purchased online and the price is 5 €. The morning shifts are almost all sold out, but there are still some left in the afternoon. It should also be noted that Navacerrada is full of visitors during the weekend, so parking is complicated.
