The serious train accident in Adamuz (Córdoba) last night, in which at least 39 people have been confirmed dead and 152 injured, has already triggered several measures to provide assistance and support to victims and their families by Adif, the railway operators, and the Regional Government of Andalusia.
Adif and Renfe information hotlines
Adif, the railway infrastructure manager, has set up a specific toll-free telephone number for this accident:
- 900 101 020 (in some media it appears as 900 10 10 20, but it is the same number). Relatives of the victims and those affected can call this number to obtain general information about the accident and the assistance points that have been set up in different cities. In addition, the number 910 150 000 has been made available as an additional channel for information and coordination, also used by Renfe as part of its Assistance Plan for Victims of Railway Accidents and their Families (PAVAF).
Iryo telephone number for relatives and those affected
One of the companies involved is Iryo, which has activated its own helpline for family members and those affected:
- 900 001 402 (free of charge). This telephone number is intended to confirm whether a passenger was traveling on the train involved in the accident. To obtain information about transfers, ticket changes, and logistical assistance. To channel requests for help and contact with company personnel deployed to stations and hospitals.
Iryo has publicly expressed its regret for what has happened and is working in coordination with Adif and the emergency services to deploy support teams at the stations of origin and destination.
Health resources and telephone numbers of the Regional Government of Andalusia
In the health sector, the Regional Government of Andalusia has activated the 061 Health Emergency Center to provide information on the condition of the injured and the distribution of patients among hospitals.
For relatives living in Andalusia, the main channel is 061, where they can inquire about people who have been hospitalized or transferred.
For relatives outside Andalusia, the telephone number 953 00 11 49 has been set up.
When calling, it is advisable to have the following information ready: the first and last names of the person you are looking for, their ID card or passport number if known, and any information about the train they were traveling on (origin, destination, and departure time).
In-person assistance points in Madrid, Córdoba, and Huelva
In addition to the telephone lines, several physical points of psychological and logistical assistance have been set up:
- Adamuz (Córdoba): the Adamuz Senior Citizens’ Center is hosting a support service for victims and their families, with psychologists from the Psychological Intervention in Emergencies and Disasters Group (GIPED) of the Official College of Psychology of Western Andalusia, the Red Cross, and other emergency teams.
- Córdoba: The Regional Government of Andalusia has set up an information point for family members at the Civic Center next to the Córdoba Bullring. Adif has added its own information point at the station.
- Huelva: A psychological and logistical support station has been set up at the destination station for relatives of passengers on the train that was due to arrive there, with teams from the Red Cross and health personnel.
- Madrid (Puerta de Atocha): Adif and the Madrid authorities have set up a specific area to assist family members who come to the station in search of information, with psychologists and emergency personnel on hand.
Before traveling, it is advisable to first call Adif or the Regional Government to confirm the appropriate point of contact and avoid unnecessary travel in such a tense situation.
Those who wish to volunteer or make donations should always do so through accredited organizations (Red Cross, Civil Protection, professional associations), which will be able to indicate whether additional resources are needed at that time.
