This year the International Tourism Fair to be held from January 22 to 26 at IFEMA has Brazil as its partner country. In this context, Casa de América will take a tour of part of the continent through a video mapping on its façade. The inaugural event will take place next Wednesday 22 and will be repeated until the 25th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The video lasts 10 minutes and, as Casa de América explains, shows “from Patagonia to Mexico, passing through the Andean and Caribbean countries, highlighting the places and traditions that make this region unique”.
The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, which is also participating in this activity, aims to publicize the Latin America and Caribbean Region Brand, an action to attract investment in the area, among the tourism sector participating in FITUR, ministers and other local authorities.
A Mexican parade of the dead in January
Continuing with the promotion of Latin America, within the framework of FITUR, various Mexican associations and personalities, such as El Charro González -self-proclaimed ambassador of Mexican culture- are holding a parade of the dead on Tuesday, January 21 in Madrid. The cadaverous walk will start at Plaza de Isabel II (Metro Ópera) at 6 p.m. and will end in Plaza de España at 8 p.m.
In addition, the organization encourages all those who want to join the celebration through the streets of the capital and parade with them while wearing the typical costumes of this holiday or the catrina or skull makeup that Mexicans usually wear on October 31. If you didn’t have the opportunity to celebrate this holiday three months ago, you have a new opportunity tomorrow.
