Four Madrid hotels have made some of their secondhand furniture available to the public for four days as part of an online clearance sale that will run while supplies last.
The initiative, called The Hotel Drop, is taking place right now, from September 3 to 6, and will offer the chance to purchase items from, among others, the Hotel Zentral Castellana Norte, the Hotel Nuevo Boston, and the historic Hotel Miguel Ángel. Pre-registration is free and can be done ateco-onemarkets.com.
Lamps starting at 9.99 euros

Among the items that will be on sale are wall sconces for less than 10 euros, mirrors for under 60 euros, headboards starting at 22 euros, tables for 30 euros, and armchairs with footrests for less than 55 euros.
Keep in mind, however, that these are not new items. They are used pieces that were once part of guest rooms, common areas, and other hotel spaces, so it’s advisable to review the photos, measurements, condition, and pickup terms before confirming your purchase.
Purchases can be made exclusively online between September 3 and 6, or earlier if stock runs out. Once the product has been purchased, the buyer will need to arrange for pickup in Madrid.
The precedent set by the ME Reina Victoria Hotel
The sale comes one year after the furniture flea market at the Hotel ME Reina Victoria—also known as ME Santa Ana—which attracted more than 2,000 people and prevented more than 43 metric tons of items from ending up as waste, according to ECO-ONE, the company behind the project.
The concept has already been replicated outside of Spain. In Paris, an edition of the project brought together more than 3,700 people interested in purchasing furniture from the city’s hotels.
