This Wednesday, September 23, marks the end of astronomical summer (though with these temperatures, you’d hardly know it), and with the start of fall, many of the typical summer activities also come to an end: outdoor movie theaters, Metro service disruptions (well, not really)… And in Torrejón de Ardoz, this will be the last weekend to enjoy the water, light, and sound shows at the Parque Europa Fountain.
As is customary in this Madrid municipality, the Parque Europa Fountain has hosted this event throughout June, July, August, and September. The show will bid farewell to summer for good this coming Friday, the 27th. “A sensational show that will leave no one who comes to see it indifferent—and it’s free, too, ”said the town’s mayor, Alejandro Navarro.
The Parque Europa Fountain features a central geyser whose jet reaches a height of 50 meters, dozens of water jets, and three water curtains onto which images are projected, accompanied by other special effects, lighting displays, and music.
This summer has introduced a new feature compared to previous years: in addition to the themed shows “Happiness” ( held on Fridays) and “Crazy ’80s” (on Sundays), Saturdays feature the “Eurovision” show—a first for this year—which includes “some of the most iconic songs” from the music competition.
Location and Schedule of the Parque Europa Fountain Show

The Parque Europa Greek Theater, with a capacity for about 700 spectators, offers the best views of the fountain. You can reach Parque Europa by public transportation via the C-2 and C-7 Cercanías lines (to the Torrejón de Ardoz station), and then take either city bus line 1 or line 2. The 224-A intercity bus also stops near the park.
The final performances of the Parque Europa Fountain Show will be:
- *Happiness*, this Friday, September 25, at 10:30 p.m.
- Eurovision, this Saturday, September 26, at 10:30 p.m.
- Crazy ’80s, this Sunday, September 27, at 10:30 p.m.
