In 2003, Victoria Beckham had just left the Spice Girls, and her husband, David, was signed to play for Real Madrid. This new chapter in the Spanish capital, as they explained in their Netflix docuseries, brought some ups and downs for the family, who had to adapt to their new reality and find a home. Before buying their mansion in 2005, the family lived in several different places: first, they stayed at the Santo Mauro Hotel in the Almagro neighborhood, and then they rented a house in La Moraleja, north of the capital.
The Beckhams settled on a mansion that cost about 4.2 million euros, according to figures released by Idealista, and spent nearly half a million more to renovate it. Built in the Tuscan style and situated on a lot of more than 8,000 square meters, it featured five bedrooms, a double-height living room, and spacious walk-in closets.
Two years later, the couple put the property on the market in 2007—coinciding with the end of the soccer player’s time at Real Madrid and his move to the Los Angeles Galaxy—and finalized the sale eight years later, in 2015.
Two swimming pools, a tennis court, and a small soccer field

The best part of the enormous property was its amenities: a heated pool, as well as a tennis court, a small soccer field, and a children’s play area. The renovation adapted the house to the family’s needs, with spaces for sports and an area for dining and hosting large parties. However, none of these features prevented it from taking so long to sell.
The sale was finalized in 2015 for around 5.8 million euros, following a major financial and real estate crisis in Spain, which likely drove down the initial purchase price. The amount exceeded the published purchase price, although that difference does not equate to net profit: to calculate it, one would have to deduct the cost of renovations, taxes, and other expenses associated with the property and the transfer.
