Designer furniture at prices you won’t even find at IKEA—these exclusive hotel sales are becoming the flea markets of our time. On Wednesday, October 28, at 8:00 p.m., there’s a new opportunity thanks to the online sale of furniture from the Room Mate Óscar, located in Madrid’s Plaza Pedro Zerolo. You’ll only have a few hours to shop, because the sale ends at midnight—or sooner if supplies run out.
The hotel, the flagship property of the Room Mate Hotels chain founded and chaired by businessman Kike Sarasola, will close on November 1 to begin a comprehensive renovation. Before the renovation work begins, the most exclusive pieces—available in very limited quantities—will be looking for new homes.
A sale lasting just a few hours

The startup ECO-ONE, which specializes in hotel sustainability, is organizing the sale as part of a special Halloween edition of “The Hotel Drop by ECO-ONE.” The initiative gives hotel furniture a second life and prevents thousands of kilos of waste from being generated. It has already taken place in Madrid and Paris, attracting thousands of online users.
This edition features a new format. “We promised that every drop would be different, and this one will feature very exclusive designer pieces—and the sale will only last until midnight,” explains Carlos Fluixá, CEO of ECO-ONE.
How to participate: You must register in advance at thehoteldrop.com. The sale is 100% online and begins at 8:00 p.m. on the 28th. Pickup is in person in Madrid, and there is no shipping, so be sure to come by to pick up your purchases.
What’s the story behind the pieces?
The Room Mate Óscar is one of the chain’s most recognizable hotels. Designer Tomás Alía created its interiors and terrace, which was completely renovated in 2026. The building also features a rooftop pool.
Over the next few months, the hotel will be under construction, but the Terraza de Óscar will remain open to the public during its regular hours.
