In the heart of Toledo’s Sagra region and right next to the A-42 motorway, Señorío Plaza, a new retail and leisure park in Illescas, has just opened its doors with the aim of being much more than just a place to go shopping. Its opening comes with a statement of intent, featuring four consecutive days of live music, traveling shows, food trucks, and free activities for children to introduce a complex of almost 90,000 square meters designed as a meeting point for the entire region.
The official opening will take place on Thursday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m. with the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, and from there, the activities will continue into the evening with a first concert at 9:00 p.m. in the food truck area, the gastronomic heart of the complex. Friday is reserved for filling the streets of the park with life: a parade in the mid-afternoon, traveling entertainment, and another live music session at dusk make the premiere more like a small festival than a conventional opening.
Activities to celebrate the opening of the shopping center
The weekend is packed with family activities. On Saturday morning, the little ones take center stage with face painting, games such as the magic velocipede, and a sing-along at noon in the restaurant area, designed so that parents can have a drink while their children are entertained. In the afternoon, there will be an “afternoon party” with a DJ, more children’s activities, and karaoke until midnight for those who want to extend the day with songs and terraces. On Sunday, the program will end with a puppet show after lunch, closing four days in which the new center will debut as a cultural and leisure venue.
Beyond the opening party, Señorío Plaza also has a hypermarket and supermarket (Alcampo, Lidl), fashion and sports (Sprinter, Kiabi, Joma, NewYorker), home goods (JYSK, Homa, mattress and sofa stores), services (gas station, optician, pet center, auto repair shop), and a robust leisure section with movie theaters, a bowling alley, bars, and a wide range of dining options, from well-known chains to local establishments.
