There’s just over a week to go before Shakira kicks off her extended residency in Madrid as part of her *Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran* Tour, with concerts scheduled from September 18 to October 11. Not only has a stadium— Macondo Park—been built specifically for the occasion, but it has also been announced that the event will feature more than a hundred guest artists , including Guitarricadelafuente, Amaia, Çantamarta, Nathy Peluso, and Yerai Cortés.
All of them will participate in ES LATINA, an experience conceived by the artist that, as stated on the event’s website, “was born from a clear vision Shakira had: to create something more than just a concert and turn it into a cultural platform.”
Conceived as a grand celebration of Latin culture: “Because Spain is Latin. The Americas are Latin. And I want to celebrate all that talent that unites us: the big names, but also a new generation of young artists who are shaping the future of music, fashion, literature, gastronomy, and art,” the artist wrote in an Instagram post.
In fact, the list of participants is not set in stone: a form has been made available on the ES LATINA website for restaurants, clubs, galleries, brands, neighborhood movie theaters, and other projects to apply to be part of the official program.
This temporary space will feature various themed areas: from La Biblioteca, focusing on Latin American literature and the works of García Márquez, to the Shakira Museum and Macondo Plaza, where a carnival will take place every night after the concert.
