These first months of 2026 will be remembered for the successive chain of severe storms that are leaving unusual images and forecasts in their wake, such as the various snowfall episodes that have already been recorded in the Community of Madrid since the beginning of the year. And this Saturday, the newly named storm Marta could cause those images to be repeated.
This is the scenario predicted by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), as a result of a front associated with this new storm, which would cause the snow level to drop temporarily to 800 meters in the morning (between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m.).
During this time slot, snow could be seen in parts of the region such as Colmenar Viejo (with a 35% probability) and El Escorial (20%). However, it will be between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. when the probability of snow will reach its highest levels.
Thus, there will be a 100% chance of snow in Somosierra, Rascafría, La Cabrera, Cercedilla, Colmenar Viejo, and El Escorial. Snowflakes could also be seen in El Casar (95%), Madrid (90%), San Martín de Valdeiglesias (85%), and Alcalá de Henares (80%).
The southernmost points of the region where snow is likely are Navalcarnero (65%), Morata de Tajuña (45%), and Parla (45%).
