The famous calçots from Catalonia come to Madrid for two weekends only. The smoke from the embers, Catalan sausages and some musical performances will fill the Multipurpose Center of Las Rozas in the next Calsotada Fest. It will be held from November 14 to 16 and 21 to 23, with a wide gastronomic variety and activities for the whole family.
The venue is located at Avenida del Polideportivo, 22 in Las Rozas and will host show cooking, live music, bouncy castles for children and a wide gastronomic variety. In addition to the traditional calçots, it includes typical Catalan dishes such as bread with tomato, butifarra sausage or patatas al caliu, which are potatoes cooked over a slow fire over the embers, with oil, pepper and aioli.
Three menus to choose from

Through the Calsotada Fest website, you can already book tickets with a discount for advance purchase. The “voy por libre” menu is free and allows entry to the festival until full capacity is reached, without having to reserve a seat. Those who choose this option, buy dishes such as the tile of 12 calçots for 16 euros or butipan for 8, among others.
For its part, the basic menu is designed for two people, ensures the reservation of two seats and costs 33 euros (38 without advance purchase). It includes 2 drinks, a plate of 12 calçots with romesco, a butipan and a dessert to share.
The calsotada menu also includes two seats and is the most complete, costing 69 euros (83 without advance purchase). It consists of two drinks, a porrón of Penedés wine (5 euros deposit of the porrón will be returned), a charcuterie board with bread with tomato, a plate of 12 calçots with romesco, potatoes al caliu with ali oli, two grilled meats and a dessert to share.
Calçots, porrón and card competitions

The Calsotada Fest organizes championships that will test the contestants’ eating and drinking skills. On Sunday the 16th, the II World Porrón Drinking Championship will be held, where both the time and the distance with which wine is drunk from this traditional glass container will be measured.
The following week, on Sunday the 23rd, the IV Edition of the World Championship of “Who eats the most calçots in 45 minutes” will be held. It is inspired by the tradition and culture around this Catalan recipe and the current record is held by Adrià Wegrzyn from Barcelona , with 245 units.
Another option will be the Mini Mus Tournament, which will be held on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 pm. It is played in pairs, with a participation cost of 20 euros per person and prizes for first and second place. All the information and links to register are available on the website.
Lunches with live music

The event will open its doors each day at 12:00 noon until 00:00 midnight. The musical performances will be on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm, just to accompany the lunch break.
On Saturday, November 15, Hot Pocket Cover will perform, dedicated to international pop rock covers, while on the two Sundays of the festival, the music will be provided by IsiPaul. Finally, on Saturday 22nd it will be the turn of Serendipia.
