If you pass by number 18 on Echegaray Street and see a liquor store door painted magenta pink, don’t hesitate to go inside. This is Calle 365, a speakeasy bar that transforms into a different country every year: in 2026, it’s Puerto Rico’s turn. Cocktails and cuisine from the “Isla del Encanto,” salsa classes, and an atmosphere that transports you straight to San Juan are just part of what Calle 365 has to offer, culminating each week with “Domingos de Bonanza”: tickets on sale here.

A stroll through San Juan without leaving Madrid
As soon as you walk through the door at Calle 365, you arrive at the Mirador de San Felipe del Morro, inspired by San Juan’s historic fortress with views of the Atlantic and the Caribbean, and framed by masks of the “vejigantes,” figures from Puerto Rican folklore.
On the right, a graffiti mural pays homage to La Perla, the San Juan neighborhood known for its urban art (and for being the setting of the “Despacito” music video). Along the bar, the decor evokes the island’s colorful houses, and in the background, a rum bar pays tribute to the tradition of sugarcane and rum.
A menu with a Puerto Rican essence

And speaking of rum, Calle 365’s cocktail menu draws inspiration from Puerto Rico’s landscape, nature, and music. For example, the La Parguera cocktail pays homage to one of the country’s bioluminescent bays; the Coquí y Maga takes its name from the small native frog and a flower that grows only on the island; and the Bomba y Plena pays homage to two traditional Puerto Rican musical styles.
The La Isla del Encanto food truck serves the “tripleta,” one of Puerto Rico’s most iconic dishes, featuring three types of meat, cheese, and salsa, based on a recipe from La Mancha de Plátano restaurant in Caguas.
Every week, salsa and much more

Calle 365 offers something for almost every day of the week: on Mondays, salsa classes with a specialized instructor; on Wednesdays, language exchange over piña coladas; on Thursdays, “Jueves de Jangueo” with karaoke and perreo; and on Sundays, “Domingos de Bonanza,” a party with live salsa music.
Every week, they celebrate the essence of Puerto Rican culture in style, throwing a live salsa party that helps us forget the Sunday blues. It takes place every Sunday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and is for ages 18 and up only. Admission includes a cocktail or a drink, and the first 100 guests receive a welcome shot.
The story behind Calle 365
The speakeasy is based on the fictional story of Margarita Poblet, who turned the back room of her liquor store into a portal to the destinations where her husband, Guillermo—an exile from the country—was hiding. Every 365 days, Margarita would receive a letter with Guillermo’s new whereabouts and transform her shop with the colors, places, and traditions of that country: Mexico, India, Colombia, Brazil, and now, Puerto Rico.
