Coinciding with the long weekend of the Constitution and the Immaculate Conception, Sol station closes its entrance from 17:40 to 21:00 hours. The measure will be in force from today, Thursday, December 5, until Saturday, December 7.
The decision has been taken to ensure the safety of passengers during these festive days, when a large influx is expected both in the center of the capital and in the surrounding areas. The closure will affect both Metro and Cercanías users.
In the case of Metro Madrid, trains on lines 1, 2 and 3 will make their usual stop at Sol so that users can change trains if necessary. In addition, from 10:00 a.m. the service will be reinforced on the routes that pass through the kilometer zero square, in order to avoid crowds on the platforms.
As for Cercanías trains, lines C-3 and C-4 will not stop at the station, so passengers who frequent either of these two routes will have to get off at the next stop, Atocha, and take line 1 from Estación del Arte to Gran Vía to reach the city center.
Both Metro Madrid and Cercanías users will be able to enter the station before 5:20 p.m. After this time, only outbound operations will be allowed.
