The 2025 will say goodbye with cold and with cold will begin the 2026: the Community of Madrid has activated the high risk alert for cold wave from this Tuesday, December 30 and until next Thursday, January 1 by the forecast of temperatures below 0 degrees for these days.
Among the lowest minimums expected, according to the predictions of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), we find the -2ºC in Alcalá de Henares and Navalcanero on Wednesday.
However, it will be on January 1, 2026 when an important part of the thermometers in the region will mark negative values of up to -5ºC, as is the case of Rascafría.
In which parts of the Community of Madrid will be colder on January 1, 2026?
- Rascafría: -5ºC.
- La Cabrera: -3ºC.
- Madrid, Aranjuez, Parla, Alcalá de Henares and Navalcarnero: -2ºC.
- Collado Villalba and Getafe: -1ºC.
Public Health provides citizens with a page with recommendations to prevent the effects of cold on health, especially in the case of vulnerable groups such as the elderly or people with chronic diseases. You can consult them in this link.
Will it snow in the Community of Madrid for Epiphany?

With these predictions in sight, speculation has begun about the chances of snowfall in Madrid for the first days of the year. With a week to go, it is not possible to state categorically one thing or the opposite, since the uncertainty is still very high, but for the moment the AEMET sees it as unlikely.
The reasons that have led to think about this scenario have to do with the weather models, which predict an atmospheric configuration that on other occasions has caused snowfall. However, it is only one possibility among others, and we will have to wait a few days to see if 2026 will open with some snow.
