The Community has confirmed, after a long uncertainty, that it is extending all the extraordinary bonuses and maintaining exactly the same prices as from July 1, 2025. This means that the season ticket will continue to be considerably cheaper than before the energy crisis and that the free fares for children and senior citizens will be consolidated throughout the year.
The Board of Directors of the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium has approved maintaining the fare subsidy throughout 2026, benefiting some six million regular users. For those between 26 and 64 years old, monthly passes continue with a 40% discount and these prices:
- Zone A: €32.70 per month.
- Zone B1: 38.20 euros.
- Zone B2: 43.20 euros.
- Zones B3, C1 and C2: 49.20 euros.
- 10-trip pass for Metro, EMT and ML1: 7.30 euros.
These amounts are identical to those in force since July 2025 and will be maintained at least until December 31, 2026.
Free of charge for children and senior citizens

The three types of free passes that were already in place will be retained:
- Children’s card up to 7 years old.
- Free pass for seniors over 65 years old.
- Free for children up to 14 years of age, incorporated on July 1, 2025.
These tickets are fully financed by the Community of Madrid in the case of children and seniors, and co-financed with the State and the rest of the administrations integrated in the CRTM in the case of children under 14.
Youth Pass at 10 euros for the whole region
It also extends the 50% discount on the Youth Pass, aimed at people between 15 and 25 years, which will continue to cost 10 euros per month to travel throughout the region, regardless of the areas. It is one of the most advantageous titles of the system, and its price remains frozen throughout 2026.
How long the bonuses will last
The bonuses are financed by the Community of Madrid, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and the rest of the administrations adhered to the CRTM, and their extension has been explicitly approved until December 31, 2026. This clears up the uncertainty that existed weeks ago: in Madrid, at least during 2026, not only will no discounts be lost, but users will continue to pay exactly the same as in the second half of 2025 for Metro, urban and interurban buses and Light Rail.
