Dua Lipa has returned to Madrid and, as is now tradition, has made a stop at one of her favorite places: the Sala de Despiece. The British artist, who offered two concerts at the Movistar Arena last Sunday and Monday, has shared on her Instagram account a gallery of images about her days in Madrid (El Prado, the Sala de Despiece, ChinChin) accompanied by the caption “Madrileña”. The publication, in less than an hour, accumulated more than 246,000 “likes”.
It is not the first time that Dua Lipa visits the Cutting Room. As mentioned by the artist herself in her personal blog, Service95, this restaurant is one of her favorites in the Spanish capital. In addition, she has been seen on other occasions in the cocktail bar Chinchin, a place that, according to the Vogue property, organized the celebration of her birthday and the after parties of her concerts.
La Sala de Despiece, an (already) classic restaurant
La Sala de Despiece, located at 27 Alonso Cano Street, in the Chamberí neighborhood, is known for its innovative concept that emulates an authentic cutting room.
The restaurant’s menu is presented as a handwritten order form, detailing the ingredients, origin and weight of each dish. In recent years, their growth has led them to expand to two other neighborhoods in Madrid: they have another location near Sol and another in the Salamanca district.
What do you eat at Sala de Despiece?
The restaurant has a central bar reminiscent of a butcher’s work table. Among its specialties are the “chuletón cenital”, a carpaccio of matured beef accompanied by tartufata, natural tomato and olive oil, and the “Rolex”, a combination of bacon, foie gras, wine gel and truffle, finished with a blowtorch in front of the customer.
With her recent visit, Dua Lipa reaffirms her connection with Madrid and her love for local gastronomy, consolidating the Sala de Despiece as a reference point not only for locals, but also for international stars (at least for one) who visit the city.
