The April Fair is no longer synonymous with spring in Seville: other cities take advantage of the good weather to make a reinterpretation of the long-awaited festival. An example of this is Leganés, which welcomes flamenco dancers and rocieros choirs in its streets from today, bringing to the south of Madrid all the color and joy of the macro-festival of Seville.
This Friday, April 25, the Fortuna neighborhood will kick off the party with Muma, a group specializing in coplas and flamenco. Then, at 10:30 p.m., the Andalusian trio Chaito and Palosanto will perform. From 0:00 hours, a DJ will put the finishing touch to the first day of the fair.
On Saturday 26, the party moves from the Plaza de la Fortuna to the Carmen. There, from 12:00 noon until after midnight, there will be a good racket: sevillanas at noon; rociero choir at lunchtime (from 14:00 to 15:30 hours); fair music and Spanish dance groups in the afternoon and flamenco concert by the group Muma from 22:00 hours.
The magic of Andalusia in Madrid
Madrid is full of tributes to Andalusia: from Tragabuches, Dani Gracía ‘s famous restaurant that triumphs in Ronda and has moved here, to festivals like the incredible Sevillian-style fair held in the capital (this year it’s May 3 and 4!).
