The date has been set for the big St. Patrick’s Day parade in Madrid in 2026: it will take place this Saturday, March 14, and will run along Gran Vía between 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The event, which generates great excitement every year, also involves a necessary disruption to mobility in order for it to take place, affecting both pedestrian and vehicle traffic with the corresponding road closures.
Specifically, the area affected by the parade will begin on Gran Vía, at Caballero de Gracia, and continue until it reaches Plaza de España, at the intersection of Calle Princesa and Calle de los Reyes. The parade, the main event of the festival, will be accompanied by other activities in Plaza de Callao both in the morning and in the afternoon.
Those who wish to attend on foot can access the area via the following streets: Alcalá, Hortaleza, Montera, Fuencarral, Plaza de Callao, Jacometrezo, San Bernardo, Plaza de España, and Princesa.
During the event, according to the Madrid City Council, a special unit of Municipal Police and Mobility Agents will be deployed to “ensure that the mobility and safety needs of both those attending the event and other users of public roads are met.”
