The bet of one of the museums of the Art Triangle for this year goes largely -to the delight of art lovers in our city- to offer the public the possibility of visiting its temporary exhibitions -we are talking about those of the Thyssen- totally free throughout this 2025. The initiative, baptized as Thyssen Nights, opens the doors of this cultural institution at zero cost for visitors one day a week.
The day chosen has been Saturdays, from 9pm to 11pm, and it will happen -it is already happening- throughout the year. With this project, the museum explains, it wants to “facilitate the access of all types of audiences” to the exhibition halls of both the Ground Floor and Floor -1.
This means that, depending on the time of the visit throughout the year, the public will be able to enjoy different exhibitions according to the museum’s program, which is detailed below.
What exhibitions will you be able to see for free at the Thyssen in 2025?
- Proust and the Arts. On the importance of art From March 4 to June 8, 2025. First floor.
- Tarek Atoui. At-Tāriq. A sound installation to discover the rural musical traditions of North Africa and the Arab world. From February 18 to May 18, 2025. Floor -1.
- Terrafilia.Beyond the Human in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collections. It gathers around 100 works that put in the center different ways of relating us with the Earth. From July 1 to September 28, 2025. First floor.
- Anna Weyant. It will be included in the exhibition program around the collection of Blanca and Borja Thyssen-Bornemisza. From July 15 to October 12, 2o25.
- Warhol, Pollock and other American spaces. Two very different figures united in an exhibition that questions the problems associated with new spatial strategies in art. From October 21, 2025 to January 25, 2026. Ground Floor.
- John Akomfrah. Listening to the rain all night long. Immersive installation.
