Until this Sunday, December 15, one airline is offering free flights to its customers. The company in question is Iberia Express and it announces the offer with great fanfare on its website as follows: “This Christmas we are giving you the flight for free, pay only the taxes”.
The destinations included in the offer are three islands: Gran Canaria and Tenerife in the Canary Islands and Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. The discount – applicable on the fare, not on airport taxes – can be implemented on selected routes operated by the airline on Express and Classic fares.
The free flights on offer are for travel between January 3 and March 26, 2025. Tickets can be purchased only until this Sunday through Club Express -this is their website- and in this link you can check the general conditions of the offer.
How much can one of these free flights cost me?
To get an idea of how much one of these flights can cost, let’s do a simulation. We access the website and select Madrid as origin and Tenerife as destination. Once done, the available dates appear in the calendar with their respective prices: you will see in green the fares that are subject to the discount.
In the case of this example, we select our outbound trip on January 8 and our return trip on January 14. For those dates, the outbound trip for Iberia Express users with 100% discount on the fare is 18.80€ and the return trip is 8.35€. So in total the trip would cost us less than €30, specifically at €27.15.
