One of the traditions par excellence of Christmas has to do with the visit to the nativity scenes that every year are installed not only in different parts of the city, but also in the region in general. The great variety of these scenes -and, in many cases, their originality or spectacularity- are sufficient justification to visit them, as is the case of the Monumental Nativity Scene of Sanse.
With its more than 120 square meters, it is one of the most prestigious assemblies in Spain, a merit that belongs to the Association of Nativity Scenes of San Sebastián de los Reyes. This year, coinciding with its 30th anniversary, they have included “a surprise” inside the nativity scene itself as a wink.
The Monumental Nativity Scene will open to the public from November 30, 2024 to January 6, 2025 in the municipal building Francisco Martín Moreno and the visit is completely free. In 2023 the assembly was visited by nearly 41,000 people.
More than 70 volunteers have been working for months on what is considered one of the biggest attractions of Christmas in San Sebastián de los Reyes, with the aim of “once again offering an immersive experience in which the public is surrounded by scenes recreated with care, where light and music envelop the entire installation,” says the City Council.
In this edition, in addition, there will be figures and scenes that have not been seen before, such as the flight to Egypt, and a water wheel that is among the oldest pieces made by the association.
