Part of the emptying of the streets of Madrid in summer is not only due to the summer exodus to holiday destinations, but also because many Madrileños and Madrileñas begin to frequent other more comfortable and appealing places with the high temperatures: the swimming pools. Even more knowing that you can go to some pools for free within the region if you meet a single requirement … and as many times as you want.
That requirement is none other than having the Youth Card: thanks to its Piscineo 2025 campaign, one more summer anyone who has this title can purchase their ticket for free online -never at the box office- to swim in the following pools:
- Puerta de Hierro Swimming Pool (La Coruña road, km 7).
- Canal de Isabel II swimming pool (Avenida de Islas Filipinas, 54)
- San Vicente de Paul Swimming Pool (calle Pelícano, 4)
How to book a ticket to go to free swimming pools in the Community of Madrid?
In order to make the reservation you need to register at this link or download the DEPORTESCM app (for iOS and Android). Once the registration is confirmed, you will have to log in and click on “Summer swimming pool tickets”. Then you just have to choose the pool you want to go to, select the ticket with “Promotion CARNÉ JOVEN (free)” and confirm the purchase.
The ticket will be sent to your email as a QR and is personal and non-transferable. At the time of access, you must present it together with your ID card and the Youth Card in physical or digital format on your cell phone (the old red one is not valid).
The ticket can only be taken out for the same day (from 00:01h). The promotion is limited to a maximum of 1 ticket per person per day and only to be used in one facility (you can not get tickets for different pools).
Discounted tickets
The quota of free tickets is limited, so it is possible that there may not be any left when you go to book yours. However, you can still buy them with the Youth Card with a 20% discount on the general rate (4 euros).
How to cancel a reservation
In case you have made a reservation and finally you cannot attend, you need to cancel it from your profile so that someone else can enjoy it: if you make a reservation and then do not use your ticket more than once during the season, you will not be able to purchase new free tickets.
Is it possible to access with Youth Cards from other Autonomous Communities?
Yes, and also European ones, as long as they have the pink EYCA (European Youth Card) logo.
Dates and schedule
Piscineo 2025 is available from May 15 until September 7 and the pools are open from 11 am to 7:45 pm.
I don’t have a Youth Card, how can I get one?
