i-DE, the electricity distribution company of the Iberdrola group, has announced that in August there will be blackouts in the electricity supply in different parts of the Community of Madrid.
These outages are intentional and are programmed with the aim of “guaranteeing the quality of service and the safety of the installations” and can have durations ranging from 30 minutes to three hours.
The next blackouts are planned between Monday, August 18 and next Saturday, August 23, affecting both the capital and 19 other municipalities in the region.

Advice in the event of a power outage
In order for these outages to cause as little inconvenience as possible, i-DE offers a series of recommendations, such as:
- If during the power outage you are going to leave the house, take the elevator or take the car out of the garage, take this into account and get organized.
- If the power outage occurs during your usual meal times, have non-perishable food available or food that does not need to be prepared.
- Have your mobile devices, tablets or computers charged? and save all your work before the power outage start time!
On the other hand, it is very important that during the time of the outage no “maintenance work is carried out on your installation because the service can be restored earlier and could lead to serious accidents“, according to the company.
