One of the Christmas markets par excellence in these special dates returns to Madrid’s Gran Vía: the Mercadillo del Gato, which will be held once again at number 13 of this great spine of the city between December 12, 2025 and January 6, 2026.
The event will bring together artisans from very different fields, but with a common point: they all make unique, original and quality products. “Here there is no rush or impersonal shopping: each object has a history, each piece is special”, emphasize from the organization of the event.
Admission is completely free and, besides being able to spend some time strolling among the stalls, browsing the items and chatting with those who have shaped them, there will also be a lounge bar to have a liqueur or cocktail.
What brands and items will be available at the Mercadillo del Gato?
In this flea market there will be a selection of jewelry and costume jewelry, fashion, complements and accessories -such as fanny packs, backpacks, leather bags, pashminas…-, natural and handmade cosmetics, aromatic and ecological candles, details for animal lovers or handicrafts made of olive wood.
There will also be space for literature -with carefully selected editions of “artist’s books”, classic literature, children’s literature and facsimiles- and for stationery, with hand-turned pens and fountain pens.
Among the brands that will be present at this flea market are Antigua’s, Lima Jewels, Wax and Calm, Cuidando me voy, Debloom, El desván de J, Rocío Gmu or Efboutique. And each purchase is much more than just a gift for yourself or a loved one: it is a way to support local artisans and their businesses.
A solidarity stall
On the other hand, SOS Aldeas Infantiles will have a stand in order to raise funds that will go to support children and young people in vulnerable situations.
