This weekend the Santa Barbara Palace (Calle Hortaleza, 87) in Madrid hosts the Impronta Festival, an event that celebrates Italian culture with a mix of crafts, workshops, live music and gastronomy. Friday evening is by invitation only, but Saturday and Sunday admission is free.
Impronta was born as a platform to unite designers and artisans, now this has been transformed into an open space where anyone can participate and buy. The event is a benchmark for contemporary design and sustainable crafts, and brings together more than 20 exhibitors selected among ceramists, jewelers, textile creators, artists and designers, who show and sell unique, handmade and soulful pieces.
The festival goes far beyond the commercial. Its programming includes immersive and creative workshops for adults and families, such as botanical pottery sessions, linocut classes, Japanese sashiko embroidery, and the striking Japanese botanical art of kokedamas.
To take part in the activities and learn from master artisans, all you need to do is sign up. In addition, sustainable brands such as Baku Barrikupel, Casa Tenue, Nexodos or ceramist Daniela Krpan will join the event.
