The weekend of October 3 to 5 the town of Valdemoro, just half an hour from the capital, will be celebrating: it will be the only three days during which a baroque fair with activities and characters of the most varied will be installed.
Thus, mingling among the neighbors and transforming everyday spaces in period settings, these three days will take place with the epicenter of the action in the Plaza de la Constitución.
Among the activities, the City Council of Valdemoro has pointed out that there will be “theatrical performances for children and adults, falconry exhibitions, juggling, musical parades, concerts, workshops and fire shows“.
In addition, there will also be dramatized historical trails, puppets and storytellers, Celtic music and children’s attractions. You can consult the complete program and the map of the Baroque Fair in this link.
The historical importance of the festival for Valdemoro

Although given the golden age that medieval and period markets seem to be living, one might think that their celebration corresponds only to a fashion, it is not at all the case.
In this Madrid town the celebration of this fair is linked to its own history through an ephemeris: the royal concession of 1603 by which Philip III allowed to organize markets in Valdemoro.
Baroque music concerts in a monument

The Baroque will also be present during several weekends in Madrid this October on the occasion of the International Festival of Organ and Baroque Music of Vicálvaro.
The Church of Santa María La Antigua -which, by the way, has the recognition of BIC in the category of Monument- will be the scene of this musical event by which will pass, until next October 18, musicians of international prestige. You can consult the details in this link.
