In the middle of August, Leganés is transformed. From August 12 to 17, the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of the Virgin of Butarque will turn the city into an open stage where centuries-old processions, free concerts by national and international artists, children’s activities and the atmosphere of the peñas will coexist.
The proclamation, by local photographer and DJ Jimmy Brody, will officially open the celebrations on Tuesday 12 in Plaza de España, after the traditional parade of peñas that runs through the center of the city accompanied by charangas. That same night, the Recinto Ferial will host the Radiolé Festival, which will bring together artists such as Alazán, Juanlu Montoya or Silvia Pantoja, before the Dier Orchestra puts music to the first verbena.
Concerts and festivals to suit all tastes
The musical line-up for 2025 includes names such as King Africa (Wednesday 13); the pop phenomenon Vicco (Saturday 16); the singer-songwriter Carlos Baute (Sunday 17) and the flamenco fusion of Marta Santos (Friday 15).
One of the big attractions will be the Los 40 Urban Party Festival (Thursday 14), with Omar Montes, Ptazeta, Alexis & Fido, Lérica and other urban artists that will turn the Recinto Ferial into a macro-party. In addition to all this, there will be more local proposals, such as the PARAPA Party -a mix of dance, sports and DJ’s- or the Supermartxones de La Nueva Cubierta, night sessions for people over 18 years old.

Beyond the concerts
The Virgin of Butarque continues to be the centerpiece of the festivities. On Thursday 14 will be held the traditional transfer of the image, and on Friday 15 will take place the solemn procession from the Parish of San Salvador. S
In parallel, the peñas organize activities as diverse as the Water Festival in Paseo de Colón, popular games, distribution of migas, collective meals and competitions in the style of Humor Amarillo. The little ones will have their moment with foam parties, bouncy castles and noiseless fair days designed for children with ASD.
The celebrations will end on Sunday 17 with a concert by Carlos Baute and a final fireworks display on Paseo de Colón, thus closing six days of festivities.
