According to the Clave Group, employees who take regular vacations are more productive in the long run than those who do not. Yes: although it may sound a bit paradoxical, rest and disconnection are essential for people’s work development. And with the pace demanded by the capital, much more so. The Madrid City Council has just published a communiqué in which all the public holidays for the year 2025 are listed so that we can organize our free time, which -asBenjamin Franklin would say- is worth gold.
Three and four-day long weekends during the year
There will be more bridges than last year. In January, the Epiphany of the Lord (or Three Kings Day) falls on a Monday, so those who have Saturday and Sunday off will have three consecutive days off. The same will happen on August 15, August 15, which falls on a Friday, and on the Immaculate Conception Day, Monday, December 8.
Only in Madrid, it will also be a holiday on Monday, November 10 for the day of the patron saint, Nuestra Señora de la Almudena, and on Friday, May 2, Day of the Community of Madrid.
At Easter, as every year, Holy Thursday and Good Friday will be days off. This time, the four days of vacation are more difficult than in 2024: they fall between April 17 and 20.
May 1, July 25, December 25 and May 15 will be public holidays, but they will fall in the middle of the week: they will not allow for a long weekend. It will be possible to take advantage of them to take a short break nearby or to enjoy local celebrations.
