The southern part of Madrid will see changes to its nighttime Cercanías service: Line C-3 will suspend service between Getafe Industrial and Valdemoro during the last time slot of the next three weekends in June, due to improvement work at Pinto Station.
To ensure you can still make your trip, replacement buses will be available, but be sure to check the schedules carefully if you use this section to get home or connect to other forms of transportation.
When and Where the Cercanías Service Will Be Disrupted
The line will be affected on the weekendsof June 13–14, 20–21, and 27–28. Service will be suspended from11:00 p.m.on Saturdays and Sundaysuntil the end of servicethat same night.
The exact section without trains is the stretch between Getafe Industrial, Pinto, and Valdemoro onLine C-3of the Madrid Cercanías network. During that nighttime period, the line will be split in two: trainscoming from Aranjuezwill begin and end their route atValdemoro. Trainscoming from Madrid (Villaverde Bajo / Atocha)will begin and end their routes atGetafe Industrial.
No trains will run between the two terminal stations (Getafe Industrial–Pinto–Valdemoro) during the last services of the day on those weekends.
Why is service being interrupted?

The reason for the disruptions is the improvement work that Adif will carry out on thecatenary at Pinto Station—the overhead line that powers the electric trains.New componentswill be installed to increase the reliability of the facilities and facilitate future maintenance. According to information from Renfe, the work will be concentrated during weekend night hours tominimize the impacton peak travel times.
At the same time, the Regional Transportation Consortium has also announced other construction projects on lines C-3 and C-4 (closure of the Atocha–Sol–Nuevos Ministerios tunnel on some weekends and a temporary closure of Sol station), so this month it’s a good idea to double-check the announcements before planning a long trip on the Cercanías.
Replacement buses between Getafe, Pinto, and Valdemoro
To cover the section without rail service, Renfe has implemented an alternative road transport plan:
- Replacement buses will runin both directionsbetweenGetafe Industrial, Pinto, and Valdemoro, and will be clearly marked at the stations.
- These buses will connect with trains arriving at Getafe Industrial from Madrid and with those departing from Valdemoro toward Aranjuez, replicating the C-3’s latest schedules as closely as possible.
Detailed information on stops and schedules is available on the Renfe website and the official Cercanías Madrid profile, as well as on the Regional Transportation Consortium’s website (under the “Cercanías Notices” section).
