The arrival of the heat doesn’t just affect people: just as we look for places to take a dip and even adapt our diet and habits to rising temperatures, during the summer months plants also need to be cared for, tended to, and kept in a cool place to survive the scorching heat—something that’s often difficult to manage due to vacations. In response, a new plant daycare is launching in Madrid this summer.
Launched by Infinito Delicias (5 Doña Juana Street), this service was created so that people going on vacation this summer can leave their plants in a well-cared-for and temperature-controlled environment at Espacio Gradas.
The service will launch next Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. From then on, every Wednesday in June and July—from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.—they will offer “a drop-off and support space to answer questions and share tips on plant care.”
A botanical library within a climate refuge
In addition to caring for the plants and providing advisory services, the space will feature a small botanical library where visitors can consult books to “learn and be inspired,” according to the organizers.
In addition, throughout the summer—between June and August— Infinito Delicias will also serve as a climate-controlled refuge where people can come to “relax, read, work, or simply escape the heat.”
Dates for the Infinito Delicias plant daycare
- Start: Wednesday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m.
- End date: Saturday, September 12. The service will conclude in the morning (the exact time has not yet been specified), along with a breakfast that will be prepared for attendees.
