As announced by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, during the first day of the State of the Region Debate, starting this October, the cost of a one-way ticket on the Madrid Metro network for Zone A will change and will be set at a flat rate of €1.50.
The change will affect all passengers who use this type of ticket within Zone A, which covers all metro lines and stations located within the city limits and the ML1 (Light Rail Line 1). A detailed map is available on the official website of the Madrid Regional Transportation Consortium.
Until now, the price of this type of ticket ranged from €1.50 to €2, depending on the distance of the trip and the stations traveled through during the journey.

The new fare will be rolled out gradually at various ticket vending machines throughout the subway network; initially, it will be available at 209 machines installed in more than 70 station concourses, and will gradually be expanded to an additional 144 machines between September and next summer.
Measures such as this are part ofthe Estación 4.0 project, through which the regional government is upgrading the Madrid Metro’s ticket vending machines with an investment of 9 million euros financed by funds from the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
New video call-based telecare service

In addition, the regional president noted that “passenger service will continue to improve” with the addition of a video call-based remote assistance service on the new Metro ticket vending machines.
Thanks to this system, users will be able to contact a specialized agent in real time to resolve questions, receive personalized guidance, or make a purchase with remote assistance.
