The Community of Madrid will build a new public hospital in the municipality of Loyozuela, in the Sierra Norte, which will specialize in rehabilitation, nursing care and medical care for chronic patients. The new Hospital de Cuidados y Recuperación Funcional Sierra Norte will start to be built at the end of this summer.
On Wednesday, June 4, the Governing Council approved the awarding of the works, which will have a budget of 34.5 million euros and are expected to last eighteen months.
The location of the new hospital
The center will be located next to the Loyozuela emergency heliport, near the A-1 highway, and will occupy an area of 10,500 square meters. It is estimated that it will benefit 25,000 inhabitants of the north of the region.
The project is part of the Hospital Infrastructure Modernization Plan promoted by the Regional Ministry of Health, and will be integrated into the network of medium and long-stay public centers of the Community of Madrid, which already includes the hospitals of Guadarrama, La Fuenfría (Cercedilla), Virgen de la Poveda (Villa del Prado) and the Hospital Enfermera Isabel Zendal unit.
The regional government highlights the focus on sustainability and innovation, with the incorporation of advanced insulation techniques, LED lighting and intelligent air conditioning systems that will optimize the building’s energy consumption.
