The Madrid Transport Season Ticket is much more than a pass for the Metro: it is a key that opens the door to practically the entire public transport network of the Community of Madrid, allowing users to move around the city and its surroundings in an unlimited and comfortable way for 30 days during the period of validity and within the chosen fare zone.
What means of transport can you use with the travel pass?
The transport pass is valid on all services managed by the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM). This includes:
- Metro de Madrid: access to the entire metro network within the contracted area.
- EMT urban buses (except the Airport Express line): you can use any municipal bus in Madrid.
- Urban buses of other municipalities in the Community of Madrid: covers local buses in cities such as Alcobendas, Getafe, Leganés, among others.
- Intercity buses: connects Madrid with nearby municipalities and other areas of the region.
- Metro Ligero y Tranvía de Parla: covers Metro Ligero ML1, ML2, ML3 and the Parla tramway.
- Cercanías Renfe: allows you to travel on Cercanías trains within the fare zones included in your season ticket, including the C-9 Cercedilla-Cotos line.
One of the main advantages of the pass is integration: you can transfer between different means of transport without worrying about buying additional tickets, as long as you stay within the zone and period of validity. This makes daily mobility much easier, especially for those who live in the periphery and need to combine several means of transport to reach their destination.
What is not included in the pass?
The season ticket does not cover the EMT Airport Express line or some special or long-distance services outside the scope of the Regional Transport Consortium. In addition, if your journey exceeds the zone for which you have a season ticket, you will have to pay the difference.
How is it used?
The season ticket is loaded onto the Tarjeta Transporte Público (TTP), a contactless card that is validated when entering each means of transport. It is also possible to carry this card digitized on your cell phone using Google Wallet, an advance that arrived in November 2024 and that speeds up access in many cases.
