If the handyman from Art Attack -the famous 90’s show presented by Jordi Cruz- had set up a supermarket, it probably wouldn’t be Medina 3 nor would it be in Carabanchel (Calle del Aguacate, 42), but it would also, with a high probability, sell the same kind of products sold there: varied and big.
Medina 3 -or the “Costco castizo”, as our colleague Álvaro Llagunes kindly christened it- is dedicated to the distribution of nuts, snacks and sweets in the Community of Madrid and nationwide.
Among the XXL products that you can find when you visit there are assortments of chewing gum, candies and sweets, items for parties and events -anything you can imagine: from communions to Halloween- and it also has food and catering products.
What are the prices of Medina 3?
During his visit to the Aguacate Street facilities, our colleague Pedro Pineda -who you can see in the cover photo of this article happy with an XXL bag of bark- found prices like the following:
- 10 kg of walnuts at 40€.
- 1 kg of peeled seeds at 4,50€.
- Packs of 6 bottles of Fanta at 1,41€ per liter
- 2 kg of canned tuna at 27€.
And, in addition to the prices, a curiosity that caught his attention: this supermarket has a reception.
Medina 3 opening hours
Since last May 12, their opening hours are from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. They also have another store in Río Genil, 17 (Móstoles) -open from 8am to 2pm and from 4pm to 8pm- and they are present in MercaMadrid Centers. You can check the locations in more detail in this link.
The XXL trend in gastronomy
In gastronomic matters, it seems that in the era of social networks XXL products are, in themselves, a real attraction. In this sense, we find in the Community of Madrid places like the Parrilla de Valdemoro (Calle París, 4. Polígono industrial Albresa, exit 24 A-4), where they serve giant croissants of more than 400 grams.
