At a time when going to the movies is a privilege for many, it is clear how important it is for neighborhood theaters to survive, with more affordable prices and activities that contribute to the social and cultural fabric of a neighborhood. The Sala Berlanga (Calle de Andrés Mellado, 53) is one of these havens for film lovers in Madrid and, as every year, it returns punctually with its cycle of Goya films for only €3.50.
This year, the event featuring the feature films nominated for the awards is being held between January 23 and February 28, with the screening of more than 30 finalists. Among them are the big favorites, such as La cena by Manuel Gómez Pereira, Los domingos by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, Sirat by Oliver Laxe, Maspalomas by Jose Mari Goenaga & Aitor Arregi, and Sorda by Eva Libertad.
The catalog also includes revelations of the year such as Estrany riu by Jaume Claret, La furia by Gemma Blasco, Muy lejos by Gerard Oms, and Balearic by Ion de Sosa, as well as highly acclaimed works such as El cautivo by Alejandro Amenábar and Romería by Carla Simón.
